risks.

fate, Nicole’s best friend Tracy goes along and they find themselves running
for their lives.

still married, despite the fact her husband hasn't been born yet. And, get them
home alive.
Excerpt...
Nicole shook her head to recall the last
thing she remembered. When she blacked out, Tracy was beside her. That meant
she was inside the perimeter as she began her journey into the past. It
explained why they were both in 1812. Poor Tracy. She didn’t have a clue.
“Tracy, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for you
to come with me.”
Tracy stretched high over her head and
yawned, obviously still oblivious to the situation. “Are we in a wagon?”
“Yes.” Nicole nodded slowly.
Tracy chuckled then looked confused as her
eyes darted around the dimly lit quarters. “When did you get a wagon? I don’t
remember—” She stopped in mid-sentence and her mouth gaped open when a gunshot
exploded from outside.
Nicole covered her ears to muffle the
sounds that followed. Only faintly hearing hooves pound the ground, women and
children scream and men shout in desperation.
“Is that smoke?” Tracy asked in a
high-pitched tone. “Are we on fire?”
Nicole read her lips and looked to where
she pointed. A gray billowy cloud materialized inside the wagon like an apparition
and instantly stung her eyes.
Nicole buried her nose in the sleeve of
her dress then pulled back briefly to cough out a command for Tracy to do the
same. Right away, she saw blood on her sleeve.
In an attempt to escape before flames
engulfed the canvas overhead, she grabbed Tracy’s arm, pulled her to her feet
and drug her to the back of the wagon. They had to go. Now.
“Wait!” Tracy jerked her arm free in
protest. “Where are we? Don’t lie. By the looks of it, I’m guessing— Are we in
1812?”
Nicole heard her gasp when she confirmed
her suspicions with a quick nod.
“Are-Are you serious?” Tracy stuttered. “I
don’t want to be in 1812! Okay Niki, you made your point. I believe you can
travel in time. I’ll never doubt you again. Now, let’s go home.”
“We have to go all right. We’re under
attack.” Nicole mumbled inches from Tracy’s face. “Home isn’t an option right
now.”
Author Tammy
Tate
Tammy Tate was born and raised in Hollywood,
Florida but has lived most of her adult life in
Texas. Her passion to write began in high
school. It follows her everywhere she goes...creating a world where anything is
possible. She's been married to the same wonderful man for over thirty years.
Her secret to a long marriage? It's easy when you marry your best friend. In
her world, Friday night is still date night.
Before she became a full-time author, she was
an Executive Secretary, a Computer Consultant/Technician, and a Communications
Officer (Police Dispatcher). She doesn't mind a challenge which has allowed her
to race a late-model in a women's powder puff race, run barrels and poles in a
play-day rodeo and drive an 18-wheeler. Somewhere in between, she and her
husband raised three wonderful children. When she's not breathing life into her
characters or jotting down ideas for a new book, she and her husband are
exploring country roads on their Honda Gold Wing.
Since she believes reading is the next best
thing to writing, she enjoys romance, fantasy, science fiction and thrillers.
In December of 2013, she signed her first book contract with a traditional
publisher. Her books have made Amazon's Best Seller list.
A sexy narcotics agent and a rich suburban widow are weaved into
a tangled mess…one hot steamy night weaves them into tangled sheets.
SURRENDER
Lauren Reynolds is
widowed after an explosion in her husband’s warehouse. She believed he ran a
legitimate business. The local police told her it was an accident. On the day
of his funeral, there is a knock at her door to tell her different.
Narcotics Agent Brett Donovan has been
investigating John Reynolds for the past several months. A drug cartel
operation has been tracked out of John’s warehouse. As if that information
wasn’t enough to digest, Agent Donovan warns her there was a hit assigned for
both Mr. & Mrs. Reynolds.
Brett is assigned to protect the
suburban widow. She may be gorgeous but his first impression of her tells him
she’s a rich spoiled snob and he has to put up with her. Brett is good at his
job. The first attempt on her life fails but Brett knows it’s only the beginning.
He takes her into hiding. There’s definite attraction but there’s also secrets that
surface as they continue to escape danger.
He lives for danger. She lives for new
shoes at Saks. One night in a motel room with no-air-conditioning and a sexy
naked agent captures their desire for one another. Will the tangled mess
they’re weaved into and their secrets lead them back into tangled sheets?
Is desire enough when they are from
two different worlds? Or are they?
“You need to relax. Don’t take this the wrong way, but
you’re very uptight,” Brett informed her.
“I have every
right to be uptight. My husband just died. Someone wants me dead. You’re
parading around naked. I’m stuck in a dingy motel room—with no air conditioning
I might add.”
“There’s only
one way to shut you up.” Brett smiled and took her in his arms quickly and
kissed her.
Lauren took a
step back and looked at him. She wasn’t sure whether to slap him or kiss him.
An inevitable desire to kiss him answered for her. Her hands touched his chest.
She felt his heart pound. He hadn’t yet dressed. She felt his arousal against
her. His lips parted. His fresh-showered scent drove her senses wild. Nothing else
mattered at this moment. Desire overcame her as she met his inviting kiss. His
lips brushed against hers as the thought of danger left her thoughts. The fact
she’d just buried her husband no longer registered. She opened her mouth to
deepen his kiss and the outside world disappeared. She stepped back toward the
bed. He followed her lead without letting go of the kiss. A tangled mess led to
tangled sheets as they devoured every inch of each other’s bodies.

What a breathtaking story! Lauren Reynolds is not exactly the woman that
you would expect to be opening the front door to a `Narc' hours after she has
buried her dearly loved husband John. Opening the door to Narcotics Agent Brett
Donovan allows him the opportunity to tell Lauren that the explosion at her
husband's warehouse was not an accident but a murder and that someone wants her
dead too!
This
is definitely not the typical romantic fantasy of meeting "Mr.
Right!" How is it possible that Lauren has become a widow before her first
wedding anniversary? Who would expect any romantic thoughts and/or hot and sexy
moments after returning home from a husband's funeral?
The
story is believable and could be plucked from today's headlines. For this
reader, it was a page-turning romantic thriller. Or, I could describe the story
as a roller coaster ride to romance! I couldn't stop reading. I loved it!
First, I was captivated by the title of "Surrender". There's a very
special "Aha!" moment for a reader when he/she realizes why the title
of the book was selected. But this time, the title seems to be even more of a
treasure because I felt like I had that "Aha!" moment at the beginning
and then again at the end of the story. Awesome!
I
loved the twists and turns - some expected but some unexpected! There's also a
very special `treat' following the end of the story to help the reader create
their own hot and steamy Valentine's Day. It was powerful to the story to find
the characterizations so carefully developed of Lauren, her parents, Brett, and
his friend Rick. It adds to the richness of the story to find strong male and
female characters. It is a story that can be enjoyed by men and women,
regardless of age. The short story features parents dearly loved, male friends
who are genuine and loyal to their friendships with one another, a daughter
that follows her heart but doesn't wilt in a corner with self-pity even though
she questions, "Why is this happening to me?" It also features a
mother that can still surprise her daughter with a few more life lessons about
love and money.
She wasn’t concerned about going back up to the house
alone. She walked home late and alone hundreds of times. Besides, the guys
completed all the upgrades in their security and now the campus was even more
secure than when first built. She would grab one of the carts and be home in
less than five minutes. As she finished shutting things down and readied her
desk for the next day, she realized she was the only person left in the
building.
“Don’t be silly,” she chided herself. “Security has been
beefed up and there is absolutely not one thing to worry about.”
Still an uneasy feeling grabbed hold and wouldn’t let go.
She looked out her window to make sure a cart was available. The night was
clear, stars filled the sky, and the moon was a meager sliver. Everything took
on a sinister appearance. There were no carts sitting under the streetlight,
where they were supposed to be. She decided to contact the front gate and make
sure there would be cart and a security guard out front when she wanted to
leave.
She pressed the intercom button to the gate and let it ring
for a bit. She waited, and pressed the button again.
“Strange.”
She pulled the file out of her desk drawer to see who was
on duty. Frank, the shift boss, was on. He was one of the first people they
hired when they started to staff the campus and one of their most conscientious
employees. Payton sat back in her chair.
I’m being silly. I’m sure it’s been a busy night, and Frank
has probably stepped away to get a cup of coffee.
She grabbed her purse out of her desk drawer,
double-checked to verify her cell phone was in her jacket pocket, and left for
the main gate to get a cart. The gate sat directly across the parking lot and
the entire area was well lit with streetlights. An ominous dread slithered down
the back of Payton’s neck. Was there someone else in the vicinity? She scanned
the entire area. No one.
“These blasted psychic abilities,” she mumbled.
She thought she had more control over them. She needed to
heed Victory’s advice and work on honing her skill on a daily basis.
As she approached the gate, she noticed there appeared to
be no one in the security shack. Not unusual, this often happened at night.
When it was quiet and the gate locked, instead of sitting in the tiny shack,
the guards would stay in the security office across the street from the shack.
There were lights on in the office, a safe bet Frank was there. She pictured a
cup of coffee in his hand as he watched his favorite talk show.
Payton veered toward the office building, she gave one last
backward glance at the shack. She stopped in midstride. Something seemed off,
and she noticed the door ajar. The door was equipped with an automatic
close-and-lock feature. The only way for the door to be left open was if
someone stood in the doorway or something prohibited the door from closing.
She walked up to the shack and reached out to take the
doorknob. Her eyes tracked down the length of the door, until she saw what kept
the door from closing. There was a black shoe wedged in the doorway. She stared
at the shoe, her mind not able to register what she saw. Her eyes traveled from
the shoe, to the dark blue pant leg, to the matching shirt…Payton gasped.
There lay Frank, crumpled across the floor, a dark wet spot
on the left side of his chest. She reached into her jacket pocket, and fumbled
for her phone. She finally pulled the phone out, and pressed the power button,
as she felt the strangest prick at the side of her neck. She turned to her
left, where she noticed movement. Her head started to spin and her eyes
blurred. She caught a blurry image of a man right before she hit the ground.

Blurb from Valentine Promise
Corny is up to her old tricks
in Valentine Promise. Book 5 in The Corny Myers Series.
Corny’s old boss appears in a
dream and asks for a Valentine favor—to avenge his death. Corny’s a pet
detective not a human detective.
With the help of a few
friends Corny fulfills her promise with only a few stitches, a concussion, and
a trip to the hospital.
Steve loves Corny but she’ll
be the death of him. He knows she’s up to something that could get her hurt.
But, when Corny makes a promise there’s no stopping her.
Excerpt from Valentine Promise
Steve arrived home right on time. When he opened the door, I
jumped up and wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck.
“Hi sexy. How was your day?”
“Not as eventful as yours, I’m told.”
I kissed Steve behind his ear and whispered, “Call John off.
That’s a waste of his valuable time.” Steve supported my weight by holding my
rear end.
He squeezed once and nipped my chin with his teeth. “Do you plan
to do anything that will get yourself hurt?”
Steve lowered me with his muscular arms just enough for me to
feel his rising desire and then rotated his hips near my most prized, sensitive
spot. I wiggled to get closer to that spot. I’d agree or
disagree to anything at this point. “No.”
Steve laughed and the sensation vibrated through my body. He
rotated his hips again. “What are you saying no to?” His voice had lowered to a
husky whisper.
“Everything.” Steve was a sex machine on overdrive and I loved
every minute of it.
“How about a few spin cycles on the washing
machine before dinner?”
Sharon Kleve was born and raised in Washington and currently lives
on the Olympic Peninsula with her husband.
Sharon is a multi-published author of paranormal and contemporary
romance. She loves romance. She loves reading romance, living romance, and
especially loves writing about romance. She gets no greater feeling than
watching her characters come alive in each other's arms. Most of all, she loves
giving her characters the happily ever after they deserve—with a few bumps and bruises along the way.
One of her favorite things to do is picking up a new book and
sinking into the story, immersing herself in the emotions between the
characters. She hopes to inspire her readers the same way her favorite authors
have inspired her.
When not writing, she can usually be found either curled up in her
recliner with her cat and a good book, or in the kitchen baking sourdough bread
or bagels.
